Locations

A location is a place you hold stock and fulfil orders from: a shop, a warehouse, a room at home. Your plan decides how many you can have.

Also asked as: add a second shop · warehouse stock · primary location · how many locations can I have

Every store has one location from the day it is created, and stock is counted per location. Add a second when you hold stock in a second place: another shop, a warehouse, a friend's garage. Settings → Locations lists them.

The Locations page

Add one

Choose Add Location.

Add New Location
  • Location Name is what you will see in the inventory page and on transfers, so name it the way you talk about it.
  • Primary Location marks the one your store falls back to. Only one can be primary.
  • Street Address, then Country. Nigerian addresses are structured: pick the State, and the Local Government Area list fills from it. For other countries you get a city instead.
  • Phone Number is required.
The location filled in

Create Location saves it, and it appears in the list.

Two locations

What a second location changes

  • Inventory is per location. The inventory page names the location it is showing at the top, and a product can be stocked at one and not the other.
  • Stock moves between them with a transfer, which keeps both counts honest. See transfers between locations.
  • Orders are fulfilled from one of them, chosen by your fulfilment settings.
  • A location can offer collection rather than delivery, when you set it up as a pickup location under Shipping.

How many you can have

Each plan includes a number of locations, and extra ones are bought as an add-on without changing plan. The allowances are on the pricing page; see add-ons.

If it does not work

  • State is empty: choose the country first. The state list is Nigeria's.
  • Local Government Area says "Select state first": it is filled from the state, so pick that one above it.
  • Add Location is greyed out: your plan's locations are all in use. Buy a slot, or move to a plan with more.
