While founder pricing is open, a new store pays the founding-merchant price for its plan and keeps that price for the founder period, whatever happens to the standard price in the meantime. How long the period lasts, the prices, and whether the offer is still open are on the pricing page, which reads them from the same place sign-up does.
Where Admin shows it
Settings → Plan marks your plan Founding-merchant price, and the note under it says the date your price is locked until, and what your plan's standard price is today.
How the lock works
- It is taken on the day you subscribe. The founding-merchant price is written onto your subscription at that moment. If your plan's standard price changes afterwards, your renewals do not.
- It goes with you between plans. Change plan says so at the top: whichever plan you move to, you pay that plan's founding-merchant price until the same date. Its plans show the price you would pay beside the list price struck through: the standard monthly price, or twelve of them on a yearly plan, the same figure the pricing page strikes.
- It ends on the date Settings → Plan shows. From your next renewal after that, you pay your plan's standard price at the time. We email you a week before it changes, and a note on Plan and Billing says so too.
- There is no free trial while founder pricing is open. The price is paid from the start; a new store chooses its plan and pays as it is created. See Create your store and choose a plan.
After the offer closes
A store that subscribes after founder pricing closes pays the standard price, and may be offered a free trial first. A store that subscribed before keeps its lock until its own date; the offer closing changes nothing for it. That includes a store that cancelled and reopens while its lock runs: Reopen your store says so, and it reopens at its founding-merchant price.
If it does not work
- Your next bill shows a different amount from the one you locked: email us with your store name and the date you subscribed. The locked amount is on your subscription and we can read it back.
- Your plan is not marked Founding-merchant price: the store subscribed while the offer was closed, or its lock has ended. Email us if you think it should have one.
