Your Home page and the setup checklist

Home shows what needs you today. Until your store is ready to sell, that is the setup checklist, whose rows tick themselves as you finish each one.

How it works

Available on every plan · Updated 12 September 2026

Also asked as: checklist will not tick · percentage complete stuck · hide the setup checklist · what does set up do

Home is the first page after you sign in, and it answers one question: what needs you now. For a new store the answer is setup, so the checklist leads. Once orders arrive, today's numbers and the work queue lead, and setup drops to a compact row at the bottom until it is complete, when it folds away.

The checklist

Complete your store setup has six rows and a percentage. The first row, Create your store, is ticked from the start: your store and its plan exist. The other five are the things a store needs before it can take an order, in the order most people do them.

The six rows of Complete your store setup
Row What Set up opens What ticks it
Add your first product the product form, and brings you back here after saving a product exists
Set up your branding a three-step dialog on this page: what you sell, a colour, a logo you choose Apply branding
Set up payment methods Settings, then Payments, then Payment Methods a payment method is switched on
Configure shipping Settings, then Shipping, then Shipping Methods a delivery rate or an active pickup location is saved
Add a custom domain Settings, then Custom Domain a domain is added

A row ticks when the thing exists, not when you open it. Opening the product form and closing it leaves the row as it was; saving a product ticks it, even if you saved it from the Products page without going through Home. The percentage counts ticked rows out of six. There is no way to tick a row by hand, and none is needed. A ticked product row keeps an Add another button, since one product is rarely the whole shop.

Each row has its own page here: Add your first product, Set up your branding, Set up payment methods, Configure shipping and Connect a domain you already own.

The rest of Home

Below the checklist, Needs attention lists what has changed and wants a look: products low on stock, orders waiting, enquiries unread. It is empty on a new store and fills as you trade. Quick Actions are shortcuts to the pages you will open most, and Recent Activity shows the latest orders and customers.

On a phone

Home works the same on a phone. The checklist rows open with a tap, the bottom bar holds Home, Orders, Products and Customers, and the round button in the middle of it adds a product, an order or a customer from anywhere.

Once setup is complete

When all six rows are ticked the checklist folds into a single line, and after your first order Home leads with today's figures instead. Nothing is lost: every row's page is still reachable from the sidebar and Settings.

If it does not work

  • A row will not tick even though you did the thing: make sure it saved. A product left as a draft still counts, but a product form you left without saving does not. Refresh Home; the percentage is read fresh each time the page opens.
  • The checklist is gone but you wanted to open a row: use the sidebar or Settings. The rows are only shortcuts to pages that are always there.
  • The percentage does not move after several rows: refresh the page. If it stays put, email us with your store name.
